About Dr. James Chanez, M.D.

Dr. James Chanez has an established private practice specializing in Internal Medicine and Diagnosis.  He is Board Certified by ABIM  in Internal Medicine. He has been in the medical field for over 19 years.  Dr. Chanez has partnered with MVIP to better serve his patients in personalized healthcare. 


Dr. Chanez is the Founder and Past President of the North Texas Latin American Physicians Association (NTLAPA) and the NTLAPA Foundation and was recently selected for inclusion in the prestigious organization of The Latino American Who's Who.  The North Texas Latin American Physicians Association (NTLAPA) is a local nonprofit organization of Latin physicians and professional healthcare leaders working together to improve the quality of healthcare for the communities in North Texas through scholarship and community support.   He continues to serve on their board. 

Dr. Chanez has been published in D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas for many years.  He was the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and is the current Vice Chairman of Genesis IPA, the largest North Texas Independent Doctor Association.  In addition, Dr. Chanez is an active member of the Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Society, past DCMS Board Member in 2017 an d 2018.  Dr. Chanez has participated on multiple committees at local hospitals and community organizations.  He has spoken at numerous medical health fairs, symposiums and conferences throughout North Texas (in both Spanish (fluent) and English).  

He completed his Medical Degree (M.D.) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  In his spare time, Dr. Chanez enjoys sports, fishing, community work and spending time with his wife and three children.
